Step1. Group Activity - People Conductors
  • Explain to students that people make pretty good conductors.
  • Have students form a large circle, holding hands. Hold an Energy Ball between two students.  Each of the students touches a contact of the Energy Ball
  • Point out there must be a complete loop for the Energy ball to light.
  • Students should break the loop at various points.
  • Have one of the students touch the other students shoulder or sweater covered arm
  • Discuss the meaning of Conductor and Insulator.
  • Energy Balls are available from SPECTRUM Educational Supplies limited, 130 Pony Drive, Newmarket ON, CANADA L3Y 7B6 http://www.spectrumed.com . They are in the Secondary Science Catalogue on p. 229
